sharing a poem

I found this poem on one of the many support groups and communities I am involved in on the Internet. It was written by a woman named Jamie. God bless her and her beautiful angel.

Be Patient With Me

It's "all a part of life", they say
They say I must "move on"
Why can't they just understand,
That a piece of me is gone?
...
A heart forever broken,
No one will ever mend,
Please just try to give me time,
Be patient, be my friend.

I long for sleepless nights,
Filled with my baby's crys.
I long for changing diapers,
And singing lullabyes.

How much time is "long enough?"
I pray you never know,
The pain that never goes away,
And secret tears that flow.

Please ask me 'bout my baby,
Please share a memory,
That's all that I have left, you see,
And it means the world to me.

So please don't tell me
"Get over it" or "this has got to end",
Just listen as I share her story,
And don't give up on me, my friend <3
