My sister Karie came by today with a gift she had registered for long ago. She brought me a bear weighted to the same weight as Stella when she was born. A woman named Bridget, who had lost her darling girl Molly in May, 2010 received a weighted bear from a friend after her daughter passed. Loving this gift, she felt the need to reach out and comfort other families enduring the pain of child loss. My sister received out Stella bear yesterday and brought it to me today. She is beautiful weighing in at exactly 7 lbs 1 oz. I am deeply touched by this gift, and its is strange to feel the weight of your child again after 17 months! It is also very comforting <3 Thank you Karie! ((((hugs)))) And a great thanks to Bridget and all the families working hard to create a bear to comfort families all around the globe!
Here is Mollys story and a link to Molly Bears.
Here is a pic of the lovely Stella Bear. She is wrapped in the blanket Stella was when she was born and I plan on putting a cute little yellow bow in her hair soon. She has an owl on her because that was Stella's theme in her nursery. I love it!

I'm glad you like your Molly Bear! I love the little owl :)
I absolutely LOVE this idea. So sweet.
I've been sleeping with a quilt made up of all of Clara's baby cloths since she died, but I've often found myself wanting something more tangible to cuddle. To, in a small way, sooth the ache of my empty arms without her here. What a brilliant idea.
I'm so glad that you find it comforting. Some days even the smallest comfort can mean the world to a Momma in pain.
